Kayaking to Peche Island

Tony & Petula Fera | August 11, 2017

Watch as we go wine tasting – not testing, along the Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC). This emerging wine region is spread along the shores of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario so it offers both great wine and scenic drives. You’ll have such an amazing time exploring the vineyards and tasting the wines that attempting to get all the stamps on your EPIC Wine Passport may make you feel like you participating in The Amazing Race! Try and see if you can beat our record. We made it to 6 wineries in 1 day.

Kayaking to Peche Island

Tony & Petula Fera | June 26, 2017

Peche Island in the Detroit River is a nature lovers paradise. It’s now a park owned & operated by the City of Windsor. Watch as we paddle over in kayaks with Wayne from Windsor Adventure Inc. We were lucky enough to spot some of the wildlife found on the Island as well. We also hike to see the ruins of Hiram Walker’s intended summer home.

A Hidden Gem B&B

Allow us to introduce you to a true hidden gem in Windsor, Essex County, ON. A Hidden Gem Bed & Breakfast, owned by Troy & Susan Brian, is an amazing 100+ year home with lots of charm & character in the Walkerville neighbourhood. The B&B has 2 rooms, a Suite & Loft, and both rooms have their own unique features. Troy & Susan are such great hosts and have put a lot of thought, effort, heart & soul into every detail.

Point Pelee National Park in Leamington

Tony & Petula Fera | December 28, 2016

One of several national parks in Ontario, Point Pelee National Park, in Leamington, has everything!!!  You can go to the beach, hike, bike, camp, go birding (yeah, it’s a thing), fishing, canoeing and so much more.

Our Personal Tour of Pelee Island

Tony & Petula Fera | September 11, 2016

It’s Canada’s most southern tip…Pelee Island! It’s a quick ferry trip across from Leamington, ON. You can even take your car or bike over to the island. The beaches are everywhere, there are campgrounds, small hotels and B&Bs. The island is home to Pelee Island Winery Pavillion (there is also a location on the mainland in Kingsville) and there are several tours a day. Rent a bike and cruise the mainly flat island all day long.

Barrels Bottles and Brews Trail

Tony & Petula Fera | August 11, 2016

There’s plenty of reasons to visit Windsor/Essex, the Barrels Bottles and Brews Trail is just one of them! We went to 4 of the 11 stops on the trail. We sampled locally made craft beer and craft whiskey. Learned so much about beer and whiskey making, as well as the history of Windsor during the American Prohibition era.
