At MoreWindsor.com, you’ll find all the reasons why our bustling, not-so-little community is a great place to shop, dine, and explore. Should you want to plan a day trip or weekend getaway,  we’ll help you find fun events, fascinating points of interest, and even provide some helpful cross-border tips! No matter what you want to see or do, Windsor can be the perfect holiday destination for you.

Why not?! The answer to that question is as varied as visitors who come to our destination. The reasons are different for everyone. One thing you can be assured: we have plenty of reasons why you’ll love this place!

As our great nation of CANADA celebrates 150 years, be certain that Windsor Essex plans to party all year long to mark these major milestones and you’re invited to the festivities. You can check us out online at we150.ca to see all the ways Windsor Essex and Pelee Island is commemorating the occasion.

Why not celebrate Canada 150 with Parks Canada by taking advantage of the Discovery Pass? With it, you’ll be excited to find that you get free admission to not one, but two National Park sites in our region. Stand on the southernmost point of Canada’s mainland at Point Pelee National Park and immerse yourself in this pristine natural sanctuary. Travel the variety of cycling/hiking trails that can take you from gate to tip, paddle through meandering waters, or take a scenic stroll through the iconic Marsh Boardwalk.  Then, explore the trenches and barracks at Amherstburg’s Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada and listen to stories of the War of 1812 – a time that helped to shape the identity of our great nation.

Why not check out the non-stop gaming action at Caesars Windsor, where Canada’s largest internationally branded casino resort and entertainment destination rolls out the red carpet for visitors. Caesars Windsor’s 5,000-seat Colosseum hosts some of the biggest names in show business including Celine Dion, Bruno Mars and Kevin Hart.

Why not soak up our arts and culture scene whether it be by taking in a live performance, being riveted in your seat as you listen to our Windsor Symphony Orchestra or walk the footprint of some stunning art displays in the Windsor Sculpture Park, our Museum Without Walls.

Why not be a foodie aficionado? When it comes to culinary tourism you are going to rejoice in our taste of place. Our restaurants and chefs use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, taking advantage of our abundant agricultural bounty.

Where there is food, there must be drink and Essex County is home to 18 award winning wineries highlighted by the EPIC Wine Route along with our Barrels Bottles & Brews Trail that features eleven craft breweries (some of which are opening in the near future), and a craft whisky/vodka distillery at Wolfhead. As if that is not enough, iconic global brands Canadian Club Whisky and J.P. Wiser’s Whisky are made right here in Windsor.
