Media Release - New Tourism Video Captures the Essence of Pelee Island
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) has launched a new video showcasing the top points of interests on Pelee Island. This video has been developed through an effective partnership at the provincial and municipal levels. There are two versions being distributed. The 30-second teaser is distributed through strategic ONRoute Service Centres, various consumer shows, and on social media. The 6-minute long-form video is running on the two Pelee Island ferries, creating awareness and building excitement among visitors travelling to the Island. Both versions are also available on Youtube.
Media Release - Delivering an EPIC Experience to Visitors
On Thursday, June 11, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) and Essex Pelee Island Coast (EPIC) Winegrowers’ Association launched a brand new “Passport to EPIC Wine Country”, a savings booklet that sells for $10, where visitors will also have a chance to win a $400 VIP experience. The Passport is filled with special offers from participating wineries, providing visitors with valuable savings as they journey
through our Wine Country. Additionally, the Passport will act as a tool to capture visitor data in order to keep them informed and engaged on future regional tourism offers. TWEPI also released the 2015 Wine Route Map, a very popular fold-out publication that highlights our wineries and complementary attractions and accommodations.
Media Release - Provincial Tourism Week Kicks Off
On Tuesday, June 2, from 10am – 12pm, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island is pleased to partner in the annual kick-off to Tourism Week at the province of Ontario’s Travel Information Centre (OTIC) in Windsor. The OTICs play an integral role in celebrating Tourism Week with their annual Open Houses, exhibiting what each region has to offer visitors for the upcoming, busy summer season and beyond. Tourism Week in Ontario highlights the economic and social value of tourism. In 2012, Ontario tourism generated more than $28 billion in economic activity and supported over 359,000 jobs. Every $1 million spent by tourists created 13 jobs and generated over $527,000 in wages and salaries.
Media Release – Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix announces Canadian ticket package and renewed partnership with the City of Windsor
The 2015 partnership marks the sixth year that the Grand Prix will work with the City of Windsor and it will once again provide an effective way for Canadian fans to easily and safely cross over into Detroit and experience all the excitement of this world-class racing event. Fans will witness thrilling action on and off the track at the Grand Prix, May 29-31 at Belle Isle Park, and get a chance to sit together in a special Canadian section at the race.

What an incredible year for our region! Through collaborative efforts with our stakeholders, our region saw a dramatic increase in hotel occupancy, hosted multiple international events, and received numerous industry awards. Furthermore, our next 5-year business plan was approved, we launched a new culinary strategy, and implemented a complete redesign of the TWEPI website.
