Open Streets Windsor: Ontario 150 Edition
Sunday September 17, 2017. Join us again for the largest free recreation program in the city’s history! In 2017, designated streets in the City of Windsor will be closed to traffic and open to people of all ages, abilities, social, economic backgrounds to enjoy. The Open Streets route covers an approximately 8-kilometre span from Sandwich in the west to Ford City in the east.
Open Streets Windsor encourages active transportation, physical activity, community-building initiatives, and provides a chance for local businesses and organizations to participate on the route. The Ontario150 edition of Open Streets Windsor will include an immersive Ontario150 Hub. This event is made possible through generous funding from the Ontario 150 Community Celebration Program, through the Government of Ontario.
Open Streets are unique events, held in over 100 cities in North America, that temporarily close roadways to vehicular traffic, allowing people of all ages and abilities to use them for healthy and fun physical activities (i.e. walking, cycling, yoga).
Free admission, 10 am – 5 pm
