Phantoms of River Canard... April thru October 2013. The River Canard Canoe Company hosts this enjoyable and entertaining historical interactive play that includes walk-abouts in historical cemetaries and a canoe trip on River Canard. The tour outlines the sequence of events from Hulls invasion at Sandwich, the advancement to River Canard bridge involving the 41st regiment (Hancock and Dean). Learn about the meeting of Tecumseh and Brock, and their seige of Detroit, the local Canadian militia soldiers, First Nation settlements and their war of 1812 involvement, the first hanging in Canada occurring at Sandwich, Petite Cote, British Ship Queen Charlotte and much more!
