Mozart Goes to Prague

Saturday, January 16, 2021

Variety is the spice of life. This program is a great example of what happens when you expect the unexpected. Following his enchanting visit to Prague, Mozart composed Symphony No. 38, named the “Prague” as a gift to that great European capitol. Pair that with a world premiere of the Persian Suite by Iranian Composer Farhad Poupel and Mendelssohn’s musical portrait of the sights and sounds of Scotland. Tubist, Jared McCourt returns home to Windsor to show us yet again how virtuosic and expressive a tuba can sound when in the hands of a master as he performs the world premiere of a tuba concerto by Nicole Lizee.
