Amherstburg Open Air Weekends
Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27
Enjoy Open Air Weekends by strolling through the award winning King’s Navy Yard Park along the shoreline of the Detroit River. The gardens are in bloom and never looked more spectacular! On your walk you will find monuments throughout the park which share the story of this historic Town. Take the time to explore a variety retail shops or grab a bite to eat at an outdoor patio or cafe. You may choose to take advantage of carry out service at any Amherstburg restaurant and enjoy it outside in the King’s Navy Yard Park in the Take-Out Court. From burgers to lobster thermador, from craft beer to ice cream, satisfy your long awaited craving for delicious food from your favourite Amherstburg eateries. Every weekend Fridays at 4 pm to Sunday evening. Please be respectful of social distancing while you take in the senses and sights of Amherstburg!
For the weekend of September 25-27, which has traditionally been Amherstburg Uncommon Weekend, guests are encouraged to wear their favourite steampunk or wizard attire. Downtown businesses will be providing themed experiences and some will even have butter beer! Nifflers (platypus type animal from the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) will be hid throughout the downtown for our younger visitors to find!
We are working within the Provincial Regulations and promoting a safe environment, when you come to Amherstburg this weekend, wear your costume AND continue to respect the physical distancing orders.
