Beethoven 250

Saturday, November 21

Immerse yourself in some of the most stirring, dazzling, and revolutionary music of all time. It’s difficult to quantify the impact of Beethoven’s music on musicians and composers alike since he popped onto the scene at the turn of the 19th century. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of his artistic genius, the music of Beethoven – the pianist and composer, are on display. The program features Beethoven’s dramatic Symphony no. 8, his “come one, come all” Choral Fantasy for solo piano, chorus and six vocal soloists, and the crowning jewel in his piano concerti oeuvre – Piano Concerto No. 5 known as the “Emperor.” Joining us will be two amazing pianists. Canadian pianist, André LaPlante, one of the great romantic virtuosos, will perform Beethoven’s final piano concerto and rising star Keagan Yap, pianist, will perform the Choral Fantasy
