Culture Days 2018
Friday, September 28 to Sunday, September 30
Join Windsor Essex as we celebrate Culture Days 2018 with an explosion of history and art! Culture Days raises awareness, accessibility, partnership, and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. With the support of volunteer groups at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, hundreds of thousands of artists, cultural workers, and organizations host free participatory public activities that take place in hundreds of cities and towns throughout the country.
Culture Days Activities:
Museum Windsor is celebrating Culture Days with free admission to both the Chimczuk Museum and the François Baby House on Saturday September 29th. This is a great opportunity to check out the new exhibits: A Century of Service Above Self: Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) and Canada’s Waterscapes – Yours to Enjoy, Explore, and Protect.
Head to the Town of Amherstburg from 10am to 4pm on Saturday September 29th and Sunday September 30th. Guests are encouraged to enjoy hands-on activities, a variety of art mediums and to revel in a number of heritage-based and cultural expressions. This year includes a marine exhibit at The Gibson Gallery, the Provincial Marine at the Commissariat exhibit, a performance by the Spirit of the Four Directions signers, a narrative history walking tour by local historian Robert Honor and on-site painting by the Windsor Essex Plein Air Artists in Kings Navy Yard Park.
