We’ll be Home for Christmas: A World War I Christmas and Other Edwardian Traditions
Sunday, November 25, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
What a great way to kick of the holiday season! Learn about changing Christmas traditions as you tour this beautifully decorated historic home. How was Christmas celebrated between 1914 and 1918? Aromas of days past will dance on the tip of your nose as we prepare a holiday feast over the open fire of the hearth. Caroling, stories, dancing, and holiday cheer are among the festivities.
Children can enjoy viewing the second floor train set and vintage toy store exhibit. Tinsmithing demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day. Baked goods, coffee, and hot chocolate will be available by donation. The gift shop will be stocked with handmade tinware, pottery, and much more. Admission is FREE for this event, but donations are always welcome.
