The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) is pleased to announce Michael Mayer’s THE SEAGULL and Xavier Beauvois’ THE GUARDIANS as the WIFF 365 July screenings.

The Seagull – The heartbreaking and funny story of friends and lovers, all of whom are in love with the wrong person. The movie is timely in its depiction of the tragic consequences of narcissism, particularly on young dreams and romantic love. Screenings for THE SEAGULL are on Thursday July 12th at 3:30 PM & 8:20 PM at the Capitol Theatre.

The Guardians – The year is 1916, the year of Verdun, perhaps the most important year for the French of the entire war. The women of the Pardier farm, under the deft hand of the family’s matriarch, must grapple with the workload while the men, including two sons, are off at the front. When a young outsider to the area arrives, her help is initially welcomed; Francine is a good worker, honest and upright. But when the sons return on leave, emotions are stirred, in turn ruffling local sensibilities — and prompting a powerful narrative pivot. Screenings for THE GUARDIANS are on Thursday July 12th at 5:45 PM at the Capitol Theatre.

Tickets will be available for purchase on the WIFF website by credit card, or by cash at the door.

Tickets are $14 for adults, and $9 for students (with a valid Student ID).
