Fall Flavours & Flights

Windsor Essex is home to a cornucopia of fall flavours. Either experience the Barrels, Bottles, and Brews Trail, explore our wine region, or dive into our Coffee Culture to taste what our local wineries and brew houses have to offer.

For quality brews and small batch ultra premium spirits, visit the stops along the Barrels, Bottles, and Brews Trail, where you can experience the history of Canadian Whisky at J.P. Wiser’s, and learn more about Windsor’s role in Prohibition at Walkerville Brewery. Check out Wolfhead Distillery for small batch whisky and vodka, or if craft beer is more your thing, stop for thirst-quenching pint at one of the 11 breweries on the trail. Completing the trail with your Barrels, Bottles, and Brews Passport makes you eligible for a featured takeaway.

If you are thirsty for more, we’ve got several Craft Beer Festivals across the region this fall, including LaSalle’s Craft Beer Festival on October 5 and 6 at the Vollmer Recreation Complex, and Windsor’s Craft Beer Festival taking place at Willistead Park on October 12 and 13. Local and provincial craft brewers will participate in these festivals celebrating a much loved libation.

And for even MORE beer, don’t miss Oktoberfest for days of authentic Bavarian Beer Celebrations, starting September 28 at the Heimat Centre in Windsor’s Ford City district. In addition to beer, there will be traditional dance performances, beautiful costumes, and food.

There is also a Bikes and Beers Cycling Tour that allows you to explore the city, stopping at local restaurants, pubs, and breweries to sample craft beers and delicious food.

For another type of brew, Windsor Essex offers an impressive number of local coffee roasters.  Our Coffee Culture is filled with creative and flavourful coffee, ranging from peanut butter chocolate cold brew and spicy lattes to specialty roasted beans or a traditional cup of java. Whether you’re looking for cold brew or roast, W.E. have got your caffeine craving covered.

W.E. are Canada’s hottest wine region, with over 18 award-winning wineries situated in EPIC (Essex Pelee Island Coast) Wine Country.  Stop for a tour, tasting or special event. Another option is to book a tour by bus, trolley or bicycle.
