Toast National Champagne Day with Local Bubbly

Although National Champagne Day is observed annually on December 31st, we are firm believers that a glass of bubbly can be enjoyed just as much the other 364 days of the year too!  While genuine champagne only comes from France’s Champagne region, there is plenty of bubbly available right here along the Lake Erie North Shore region for us to enjoy.   Since National Champagne Day also happens to also be New Year’s Eve, get a bottle of something local and sparkly ready to toast the close of one year and the start of a new decade.

North Block Sparking
Made from Chardonnay along with the aromatic Chardonnay Musqué, this is soft, satiny, crisp and citrusy, with apple, custard and subtle notions of freshly baked pastry. Perfect for chilling and sipping, or pairing with seafood or veggie dishes.
Tasting notes: Palate shows white peaches, citrus zest with a baked brioche and pie crust finish.
Pairs with: Creamy cheeses or sauces, brie, green olives, oysters and egg dishes. Especially, sparkler goes with everything!

A’Dorah 
Made from Vidal Blanc and Pinot Grigio, this is a fine taut and quite complex sparkler.
Tasting notes: Soft flavours of pear, fresh lemons, and honeydew melon with a touch of pink grapefruit bitterness complete this light bodied dry bubbly!

Pairs with: This sparkling dry white wine pairs well with fruit-based desserts such as tarts, crepes and any buttered of honeyed treats.
